About Lincoln

Lincoln, Nebraska is located in the southeast corner of the state. It has a population of 248,000 and is steadily rising. The area of the city is more than 75 square miles and is only a one day drive from Chicago, Denver, and Minneapolis. Some of the largest employers in Lincoln are the University of Nebraska and Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing.

Lincoln is home to many historical sites dating back to the early 1900s. One such site is the Historic Haymarket, a unique area for restaurants, art galleries, and shopping. It all started with the original market square of 1867 but was renamed Haymarket when it was moved a few blocks over in 1874.

Lincoln is known for its many museums throughout the city. The Lincoln Children’s Museum involves fun interaction for children as they discover and learn. Consisting of 3 floors of interactive exhibits, this museum is ranked among the top 20 children’s museums in the United States. Other interesting museums include the Frank H. Woods Telephone Pioneer Museum, the Larsen Tractor Museum, and the National Museum of Roller Skating.

For a fun and relaxing day, Lincoln has many wineries in the area. One can partake of tours, wine tasting, and the enjoyment of local cheeses, meats, and breads. Noted wineries to check out include Deer Springs Winery, James Arthur Vineyards, and Prime Country Winery.
